THE BASICS
Paint correction is the slow, careful process of polishing out years of damage to bring your paint back to life. It's a multi-stage job. Heavy compounding to level the clear coat, finer polishing to refine it, and a finish polish to bring out the gloss. It is not the same as a wax or a quick one-step polish. Real paint correction takes hours.
We use dual-action and rotary machine polishers with a careful match of pads and compounds for your specific paint. Done right, paint correction typically removes 75–90% of swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and oxidation. Restoring clarity, depth, and gloss that wax alone could never bring back.
Paint correction is for cars that have lost their pop. Maybe your daily has years of swirls from automatic car washes. Maybe your black paint looks chalky and dull in the sun. Maybe you're prepping a car for sale or for a ceramic coating. In all of those cases, paint correction in Glendale is the step that resets your finish to factory. Or better.
One important note: paint correction removes a tiny amount of clear coat each time. We use paint depth gauges, test spots, and the least aggressive method that gets the job done so your paint stays safe for the long haul.
OUR PROCESS
Foam pre-wash, two-bucket hand wash, iron remover, and clay bar to pull every contaminant out of the clear coat. Polishing a dirty surface just grinds debris into the paint. So this step isn't optional.
We inspect the paint under multiple light sources (sun gun, LED swirl finder) and take depth readings. Then we run a test spot to dial in the right pad and compound combo for your specific paint.
Heavy-cut stage. Using a dual-action or rotary polisher, we level the clear coat to remove deep swirls, scratches, and oxidation. This is where the bulk of the defect removal happens.
Finer pad, finer polish. This refines the surface left behind by the compound, removes any haze, and starts bringing the deep gloss back. On lighter paint conditions, we may go straight to this step.
Final IPA wipe-down to inspect the corrected paint. From here we can apply a sealant for short-term protection, or layer on a 2-year ceramic coating to lock in the result.

BENEFITS
Swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, oxidation, and holograms get physically polished out of the clear coat.
Most corrected cars come out looking better than they did at the dealership. Flatter, deeper, and more reflective.
Hard-water deposits, sprinkler spots, and bird-dropping etching come out cleanly when caught before they go too deep.
Without swirls scattering the light, reflections sharpen and colors look noticeably deeper, especially on darker paint.
Paint correction is the right foundation for ceramic coating, sealants, or PPF. You don't want to lock in damage.
Paint condition is one of the first things appraisers and buyers judge. A corrected car looks years newer than its mileage.
It's the single most dramatic visual upgrade you can give an older or neglected daily driver.

FAQ
Polishing is one step in the paint correction process. True paint correction is a multi-stage job. Heavy compounding to remove deep defects, then finer polishing to refine the surface, then a finish polish to bring out gloss. A 30-minute polish hides swirls; real paint correction removes them.
It depends on depth. If you can catch the scratch with a fingernail, it's usually through the clear coat and paint correction can only minimize it. Not erase it. Anything that lives inside the clear coat (swirls, water spots, light scratches, oxidation) is fair game and typically comes out 75–90%.
A single-stage correction takes about 4–6 hours. A full multi-stage correction on a heavily swirled or oxidized car can take 8–12 hours, sometimes more. We always inspect the paint and do a test spot before quoting time so there are no surprises.
Yes. At minimum a single-stage polish. Ceramic coating locks in whatever's underneath it, so any swirls or scratches you skip will be sealed in for the next 2+ years. That's why our ceramic coating package includes correction by default.
Done correctly, no. We use paint depth gauges, start with the least aggressive pad and compound that will get the job done, and test on a small section first. Most modern cars have plenty of clear coat to safely correct two or three times in their lifetime.
The correction itself is permanent. Those swirls and scratches are physically removed. How long the paint looks corrected depends on how you wash and protect it. Pair the correction with a ceramic coating and you can hold the finish for years instead of months.
Most cars only need a full paint correction once every few years, if that. With proper wash technique and a ceramic coating on top, you may never need a major correction again. Just an occasional light polish.
